Analyst - Patient Safety Team, NHS England, London (December 2022– present)
- Led national statistical analysis of NHS patient safety incident data, informing government and lay audiences via key publications such as the Patient Safety Event Data Quarterly Publication and the forthcoming Patient Safety Event Data Transition Report.
- Developed reproducible analytical pipelines to standardise data extraction across national databases, reducing delivery timelines from 90 days to 30 days.
- Validated and delivered over 80 data extracts, in response to NHS England’s statutory review duties, which produced new medical guidelines and informed the public.
- Upgraded extraction of administrative data for 10,000+ healthcare organisations across England, using the NHS Organisation Data Service (ODS) API, which ensured data accuracy.
- Mobilised GitHub based workflows, enforcing coding standards and conducting peer reviews through more than 80 pull requests.
- Secured data reliability for national reporting by identifying and resolving issues with data quality team.
- Orchestrated design and implementation of a Tableau dashboard which monitored medication safety indicators and supported the Medicines Safety Improvement Programme.
- Applied statistical process control (SPC) methods and developed interactive visualisations which improved analysis quality.
- Automated reporting for the Martha’s Rule Safety Improvement Programme, reducing turnaround times from 3 weeks to 2 hours.
- Conducted ad-hoc analysis of hospital activity data which sped up policy response to urgent patient safety questions.
